• Screen Replacement

    • Our testing of your laptop will include not only the screen, but also the video chip on your motherboard, the output video cable. This insures that the screen will work properly before paying for the screen and the labor.

    • If the laptop was dropped or bumped hard, the screen may show dark spots or not show anything at all. This is due to the liquid held inside being released through cracks in the glass. If you have a Touch Screen, the damage could be on the Digitizer (top cover) or both the digitizer and screen behind it. The opening and closing of the screen also adds to the likelihood of damage to the screen or the hinges.

  • Hard Drive Problems

    • The hard drive enclosed in your laptop works the same as those on a regular desktop computer. We can usually remove the drive easily while you wait and test it right there in front of you while you wait. If your hard drive works and the data shows on our system, it is recommended to save the important files right away and then continue to determine the problem with your computer. Laptop hard drives are smaller than the desktop hard drives and are also more at risk for being damaged.

    • Laptops are more likely to have Hard Drive Damage than Desktop Computers simply because it is mobile and more likely to be dropped.

  • Fan Replacements

    • First of all, right now this moment, check to see if your laptop’s cooling fan and the vents are clean and clear of dust or grime. If you have a can of Compressed Air made for blowing dust off electronics, hold the can upright and blow it clean.

    • The process of replacing the small fan on your system is in most cases very labor intensive. The actual fan is very inexpensive and replacements are readily available .

    • The fan on your laptop is the main source for keeping your computer’s processor cool as possible. Heat is one of the biggest enemies of the computer and especially the laptop.

  • Keyboard and / or Missing Keys

    • Missing keys can be replaced if the locking pins on the keyboard have not been damaged or broken. We keep many keyboards with working keys available as replacement keys.

    • There are many cases in which the keyboard may need to be replaced entirely. We will insure that replacing the keyboard will be the “fix” before continuing. If the damage was water or liquid related, we will determine if the laptop will operate properly or recommend other options.
